Spray Paint...A Thrifty Girl's Best Friend
Today's post is inspired by Miss Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick. It's a daily practice around here to make something better, prettier, more useful or otherwise improved. It's such a part of my life that I forget that someone else might be interested. Case in point, yesterday I made an, ahem, smaller sized skirt found at a local thrift store into an, ahem, larger one to fit my "me sized" frame. I cut off the top of the skirt, making it knee length on me, added a waistband and a side zipper and voila. The skirt was so pretty, I had to make it work. Anyway, back to Miss Thrifty. Today she blogged about spray painting, which I LOVE to do. It's instant gratification, people, and that's what we like.

So, of course, not realizing that I might be sharing this adventure, I didn't take a "before" pic, but the one above is pretty close to what I had to deal with, except mine had rust on the bases from a flooded basement from 2 houses and about 16 years ago.
Here are a couple close ups of her loveliness. I found a can of bronze metallic in my "stash" and went to town.
And here she is in all her glory. I even washed the cover, although I may end up getting her a new "dress" at some point. A hard working girl like herself must have more than one look. Oh, and check out my $4.00 garage sale find from last week's treasure hunting....
Yes! A Rowenta! I would've never splurged on a new one (well, not that I wasn't actually thinking about it), but there is absolutely nothing wrong with this iron and I am feeling super spoiled just having her as my own.
So, thought for the day....spray paint is your friend. Go paint something.
